Description
Mint, unfired & with original box!
Offered for sale is this as new Winchester ‘Yellow Boy Indian Carbine’ commemorative rifle which is one of the rarest due to the fact that only 4,903 were made in 1973 & is in NIB condition.
”Winchester Commemoratives were first introduced in 1964 & each Commemorative was issued as a reproduction of a historically famous gun model or to honor a historically significant person, group, event or institution relating to U.S. or Canadian history.
Commemoratives are generally of very excellent quality & are often embellished with fancy stocks & metal finishes such as silver, nickel or gold plating. Manufactured to be instant collectibles, they are pleasing to the eye.”
The Yellow Boy Indian Carbine commemorative was introduced in 1973 with 5,500 planned for production but just 4,903 were actually made. The Yellow Boy Indian Carbines were only made in 1973 & most were destined for the European market (but at least one made it Down Under). The name “Yellow Boy” is what the Native Americans called the Winchester ’94 back in the day & it was made as commemoration to them.
This example is in mint condition & certainly the best we have seen.
It is difficult to ascertain the value as very few made it to Australia & this is one of them which we purchased off the original owner who ordered it new back in 1973 & comes with this original documentation!
