Description

Matching, original & unique!

Recently imported direct from the Fatherland is this exceptional matching numbered pre-war Kar98k manufactured in 1937 by Mauser Werke AG. In this year, only 256, 312 rifles were made by this factory, making this a very desirable rifle in its own right.

Incredibly, this rifle has survived the war with all matching numbers & with the correct, solid walnut stock.

To add to this rifles rarity, the bolt takedown disc is clearly stamped P.H. 290 which on page 306 of Richard Law’s ‘Backbone of the Wehrmacht’ confirms this rifle did indeed belong to an unknown SS Police unit. Considering that it survived the war without having its stock or any visible part replaced indicates it may not have been carried by your average infantryman in numerous battles, with the theory being it would not have remained in this original condition if it had been on the front line as part of many campaigns. Our research leads us to believe it may have belonged to one of the many Einsatzgruppen units which roamed behind the Wehrmacht as it advanced into Eastern Europe.

This is your chance to add this highly collectable Kar98k to your collection.

Do your own research & you will know if this is for you. Please view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.

We are offering this rifle as a collectable piece of military history & acknowledge the grievous atrocities committed by the Nazi regime & some of its military, particularly toward the peoples of occupied territory & the Jewish population in Europe. In no way do we condone or glorify the Nazi regime which must be remembered for the vile stain on human history that it was.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional & are happy for feedback from people who know more than we do.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.

We have a pretty unique refund policy on our collectable guns whereby we will refund your money if it is not in the condition as described when you receive it. Just let us know before you send it back.
