Description
According to the Colt records this revolver was made in 1861 so almost certainly saw action in the US Civil War & quite possibly the Indian Wars after that.
In all original condition, this has been very well maintained as there is absolutely no sign of pitting or nastiness usually associated with black powder guns of this age.
The cylinder scene is still visible & the Patent Date marking is clear.
The nipples are not deformed, the bore still shows good rifling, the cylinder locks up very tight on full or half cock & indexes easily.
As for the rest of the condition, please view the photos as these form the main description & override all others so call to ask for more if desired.
Military Colt Army’s were fitted for a shoulder stock at the rear of the grip & this revolver has this.
This would be an excellent addition to any serious Colt collection because it was used by cavalry, infantry, artillery troops & naval forces on both sides & is officially the most widely used revolver of the US Civil War & iconic.
No license is required in QLD but check your local laws.
