Description

Mint, Matching & Rare.

As listed on page 45 of Ian Skennerton’s acclaimed series ‘Small Arms Identification Series’ on the ‘.303 Rifle, No. 4’ this rifle is a post-war No.4 Mk 2 rifle made at Fazakerley in May 1950 as indicated in the usual place & comes within the listed serial number range in Ian’s book.

Correctly for the post war Mk2’s, it sports the original Mk1 rear sight & the furniture is correct plus it retains the original khaki canvas sling as described in the book.

The No.4 Mk 2 bolt action rifle was the last variant of the .303 calibre Lee-Enfield rifle made in England & incorporated all improvements made since the early 1930’s when this design was first proposed. They were produced from 1949 to 1955 & used primarily by the British & Irish Armies before being replaced by the L1A1 self loading rifle.

These are highly collectable & a great option for Service Rifle comps.

As can be seen in the photos, this is in immaculate condition & looks to be unissued, perhaps part of the Irish contract that wasn’t sent?

We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we’ll let the pictures be the description. You will know if this is for you so view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.

Standard cost for shipping to metro locations is $55 & all guns are sent via StarTrack without insurance but packed very well.
