Offered for sale is this excellent example of a quality European built hunting rifle chambered in the classic German WW2 calibre, which is commercially available at almost any gun shop.
From the manufacturers website: ”The Zastava M70 is a Sporting Rifle with an original MAUSER locking system & cold forged chrome-vanadium steel barrel that guarantees excellent accuracy, steady precision & long service life. The stock is made from quality selected walnut & highly polished”.
For the purist, these are based on the famous Mauser action with control feed.
Although these come with iron sights (which are often removed when a scope is installed) this rifle has been fitted with an also near new 3-9×40 Panamax AO scope so all ready to hunt bigger game.
This has clearly done very little work with a low round count (see photo of the bolt face).
Most obvious with this rifle is that it is not the standard finish available on current Zastava rifles being sold new, or even many other new rifles on offer in the Australian market. We think this is an earlier model with the high gloss, rich dark bluing & high gloss Monte Carlo stock.
