Description

This rifle is truly immaculate & would almost pass for a new gun, not a 42 year old one!

According to the original owner who retired from shooting, this rifle has been a safe queen since he bought it new in 1984 & looking at it, we believe him.

The original Leupold 3-9×40 Vari X-IIc scope is clear with very fine duplex reticle.

The Model 70 ‘Sporter’ was replaced with the ‘Featherlite’ which also features the Mauser action push feed & 3 position safety.

Working the action we were amazed at the smoothness & at first believed it had been worked on by a gunsmith as you can turn down the bolt with your little finger! We showed it to the Winchester rep who said it was just the quality workmanship of Winchester, as these are made for the serious hunter.

To replace this 42 year old rifle with an equivalent new Model 70 Featherweight now would cost no less than $2,500 & you’d have to fork out around another $850 for an appropriate similar Leupold scope.

The beautiful walnut Monte Carlo stock has quality checkering, the blueing is impeccable & it comes with quality bases & turn in rings.

The photos say it all so make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information so ask for more if desired.

It really is as good as it looks & would suit a new gun buyer wanting a quality deer rifle.

As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.
