Description

One of just 1,500 made in 1979 with beautiful Winchester presentation case + original box!

As new in box & unfired, this  30-30 Winchester is one of the second special low volume ‘Limited Edition’ rifles made expressly for serious collectors. The first LE consisted of 15,000 rifles in 1977 which cost $1,500 USD.

In 1979 the 2nd run was made consisting of just 1,500 guns & cost $1,750 USD which equates to $7,354 USD today ($10,857 AUD) so these were definitely a high end collectable rifle, even back then. These came with an optional walnut presentation case, as this rifle has.

Correctly, it has the copper bead front sight w/ full buckhorn rear sight & is finished in satin gold finished on the action. The ornate engraving is triple relief etching in John Ulrich’s No. 1 style. The left side features a bull & 2 cow elk & the right side depicts 2 wolves pursuing a bull moose. These scenes are bordered by elaborate scroll engraving which is evident on pretty much all areas including the lever.

The top tang is engraved “Model 1894 Winchester”. Carbine forearm & straight grip stock is of top quality gloss finished walnut which has cut checkering & sports the classic Winchester crescent steel buttplate.

In addition to the original box, this rifle comes with the walnut display case, with blue velour fitted interior & key.

The original owner says he has not fired it & it presents as such.

This represents a unique opportunity for the Winchester collector to add a genuinely rare Model 94 to their collection which is absolutely mint by any standards.
