Description

Matching, Rare & Highly Collectable! Only 20,000 made!

This is your chance to own a rare No. 1 Mk V (not to be confused with a No. 5 ‘Jungle Carbine’). Between 1922 & 1924 RSAF Enfield trialed a modified design of the No. 1 Mk III known as the Mk V Trials Rifle. Only 20,000 were made & it was decided to not progress, making these true unicorns to collectors. Most were later factory converted to No. 1 Mk III* configuration with war looming.

These rifles are now uber rare & a holy grail for collectors with a fully intact version extremely hard to find, let alone fully matching & intact.

This rifle is all matching numbers including the stock & retains the magazine cut off which was often removed when converted into a No.1 MkIII for use in WW2.

This is referred to in Ian Skennerton’s book ‘History of the Enfield’ pages 187-191 & Ian has verified this rifle as correct.  This would complete your Lee Enfield collection or could be the centrepiece at least. Do your own research on these & you will see.

The sights move smoothly & the barrel is very good for its age with plenty of rifling visible & no nastiness to be seen.

We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we’ll let the pictures be the description. You will know if this is for you so view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.

This is one for the serious collector who knows these just don’t come along often so if you think this is for you, don’t hesitate!

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.

Standard cost for shipping to metro locations is $55 & all guns are sent via StarTrack without insurance but packed very well.

Sold on consignment on behalf of a collector.
