What we have here is a mint & judging by the condition, likely unissued example of the legendary Colt 1911A1 .45 which is now available for sale after being in a collection for decades.

This is in original, untouched condition & was acquired from Legacy Collectables in the US. Legacy staff tour the US & are well known for acquiring very high quality 20th Century military firearms & this has all the hallmarks of such a gun.

During WW2 the US Government required additional 1911A1’s so ‘conscripted’ a number of manufacturers to assist Colt in 1911A1 production. These were Ithaca, Remington Rand, Union Switch & Signal (USS), Singer & Remington UMC.

Out of 1.9M 1911A1’s made during WW2, just 400,000 were actual Colt manufactured so finding an original Colt manufactured 1911A1 in this condition is not as easy as you’d think, especially in Australia!

1911A1 .45 ACP’s are iconic & there is nothing we can say about this that the photos don’t so please look carefully as these form the main description.

We are offering this rifle as a collectable piece of military history & acknowledge the grievous atrocities committed by the Nazi regime & some of its military, particularly toward the peoples of occupied territory & the Jewish population in Europe. In no way do we condone or glorify the Nazi regime which must be remembered for the vile stain on human history that it was.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional & are happy for feedback from people who know more than we do.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.
