Description

1943 Nazi Pistole 640(b) with Waffenamts

The Browning Hi Power was the only firearm used officially by both sides during WW2, having also been made for in Canada for the Canadian & British special forces by John Inglis & Company who also made the Bren gun.

Here you have a hard to find wartime Nazi marked FN Browning Hi Power made under Nazi occupation which the Germans designated the Pistole 640(b). This pistol has all matching parts & numbers. It is in excellent working mechanical condition with an honest patina across the exterior metal work. The wooden grips are correct & genuine but the magazine is a post war replacement.

Upon entering Belgium, these were recognised by the Germans as the excellent sidearm they are. They ordered continued production & these were then specifically issued to Waffen SS & Fallschirmjäger (German paratroopers) due to their high capacity magazines.

The bore is good & the serial number is marked on receiver, slide & barrel as was usual. The pistol has all correct Nazi eagle stamps & proofs Waa140 marked on left side of frame & slide which is correct for this era.  The left front of the trigger guard is correctly marked ‘MR’.

Being a late 1943 wartime production, the finish can be seen as typical for its era & there is a overall patina which is blotchy in places but no pitting or evidence of historical rust.

This has not been refinished & is in original condition which is better than photos show.

This is for the serious collector who knows what they want & how hard this is to get hold of one of these in Australia.

We are offering this pistol as a collectable piece of military history & acknowledge the grievous atrocities committed by the Nazi regime & some of its military, particularly toward the peoples of occupied territory & the Jewish population in Europe. In no way do we condone or glorify the Nazi regime which must be remembered for the vile stain on human history that it was.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional & are happy for feedback from people who know more than we do.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.
