Fully matching including cleaning rod

Offered for sale on consignment from an estate collection is this immaculate post war Model 98 Mauser produced by FAMAGE (Reformado Fabrica de Materials de Guerra), a Colombian Arsenal in Bogota where these formerly 7 x 57mm Mausers were converted from 1951 onwards to 30-06 after the US began supplying arms & ammo to Colombia.

These rifles are identified by .30 on the chamber & R.FAMAGE on side of the receiver as can be seen on this rifle.

This example still has the Colombian crest visible on the highly polished receiver when most do not as they were removed by the Colombian government when sold out of service.

Whilst not widely recognised as a highly collectable rifle of historical significance, these are a unique piece of military rifle collecting & this example is in pristine condition as can be seen in the photos.

This rifle was correctly packed with grease for storage & has been in hibernation for the past 4 decades. It has an excellent bore & would make an great candidate for Service Rifle comps with the added benefit of being an extremely nice collectable military rifle in its own right, especially at this price!

Do your own research & you will know if this is for you. Please view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information so ask for more if desired.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.
