Description

Chambered in .308, this is a Mint, Matching & Unique rifle for your collection!

Recently imported from Germany & for the first time offered for sale to Australian collectors is this highly desirable early war Kar98k manufactured in 1940 by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf which at some stage post war was converted to .308W as indicated on the barrel.

Out of over 12 Million Kar98k’s manufactured, only 415,457 are known to have been made in 1940 at Mauser Oberndorf, making this a very desirable rifle (as all early war K98ks’s are).

Unusually for a rifle which was carried for pretty much the whole of the war, other than the newer barrel (which is not numbered), it boasts all matching numbers!

As can be seen in the photos, this is in outstanding condition.  Usually, if you want a Kar98k chambered in .308 (7.62×51 NATO) you would have to buy an Israeli modified version with the additional hard use that comes with this, plus the original stock was modified on the Jewish examples & very often all reference to its origin have been defaced or scrubbed out. This rifle is covered in Nazi Waffenamts & other Nazi markings.

It sports the correct flat butt plate with the solid walnut stock & is a very good example of an early war Kar98k which was manufactured when all parts were milled & not stamped, when high quality was supremely important & everything has a Nazi Waffenamt stamped on it.

Be the one to own this unique rifle. Do your own research & you will know if this is for you. Please view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.

We are offering this rifle as a collectable piece of military history & acknowledge the grievous atrocities committed by the Nazi regime & some of its military, particularly toward the peoples of occupied territory & the Jewish population in Europe. In no way do we condone or glorify the Nazi regime which must be remembered for the vile stain on human history that it was.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional & are happy for feedback from people who know more than we do.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.

We have a pretty unique refund policy on our collectable guns whereby we will refund your money if it is not as described when you receive it. Just let us know before you send it back.
