Description

Recently imported from the US & offered for sale is this Imperial Japanese Arisaka Type 99 chambered in 7.7mm with the MUM & AA sights still intact!

We all know it is rare to find a WW2 Japanese Type 99 which retains the MUM & AA sights, but we have this available now at the shop.

Available records indicate this was made by the Imperial Military Nagoya Arsenal. The Nagoya Arsenal was a Japanese state-owned combine of five military industrial facilities located in the various wards of the city of Nagoya.

This matching numbered rifle has all the hallmarks of being a war trophy, having been taken home after the war by a US GI as the Emperors  Chrysanthemum (MUM) remains intact, which usually indicates a battlefield captured rifle because all surrendered Japanese rifles had the MUM either ground, scrubbed or somehow defaced at the time of the Japanese surrender.

It presents in  excellent overall condition, plus it retains the original cleaning rod, MUM & AA sights.

Bore is excellent, shiny with clear visible rifling so definitely a shooter & we have ammunition at the shop if collected.

This is one for the serious collector who knows what they want & don’t come along often so don’t let this get away!

The photos are of the actual rifle so as usual, please view the photos carefully as these form the main description & override all others.
