Description

Dutch FN Mauser National Police Carbine in original 7.92mm (8mm Mauser)

The FN Model 24 series is a line of Mauser Gewehr 98 pattern bolt-action battle rifles produced by the Belgian Fabrique Nationale (FN). They are similar to the Czech VZ24 rifle, featuring open sights, carbine-length barrels, hardwood stocks & straight bolt handles.

After WW2 the Belgians resumed production of the FN Model 24 for several countries & most (almost all) were manufactured in the US 30-06 calibre, but this is one of a rarity, being in the Nazi 7.92mm indicating it was likely to be very early post WW2 using wartime K98 production parts including the turn down bolt handle.

This is an extremely low numbered carbine (00292) adding to the likelihood it was manufactured immediately post WW2, making it rare indeed, plus we have never seen another like it or know someone who has! It has the sling set up on the stock for riding a bicycle leading us to believe it was ordered specifically for the Dutch National Police, as marked ‘Politie’ on the receiver.

This seriously rare carbine is a must have for the collector of the unusual. Be the only one with this in your collection!
