Description

Offered for sale is this nice example of a Fascist era Italian M38 carbine manufactured by the Brescia Arsenal, Italy in 1940, just before Italy declared war on the Allies.

The M38, or Fucile di Fanteria Mod. 91/38 (Model 1938 “infantry rifle”) was the main battle rifle of the Italian Royal Army (Regio Esercito) & were chambered in 6.5×52 calibre since 1940. Unlike the slightly shorter & lighter TS Moschetto, it also has both sling swivels on the left side of the stock which are not visible from the right side of the rifle, identifying it as a Fucile di Fanteria type.

This is the model (stamped “1940” to show manufacture date) owned by Lee Harvey Oswald & (if you believe it) was determined to be the ‘John F. Kennedy assassination rifle’.

These are an excellent entry level rifle for combined service rifle comps or in this condition, it could complete or be the start of your Italian collection.

Do your own research & you will know if this is for you. Please view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional & are happy for feedback from people who know more than we do.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.

We have a pretty unique refund policy on our collectable guns whereby we will refund your money if it is not as described when you receive it. Just let us know before you send it back.
