Unfired in the box!

This was obtained from a large Winchester collection & is available for the first time in many yearsThis Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine (SRC) was manufactured by Winchester in 1981 to commemorate John Wayne, “The Duke”.
These feature an 18″ blued Winchester Proof Steel carbine barrel with rear adjustable semi-buckhorn & front blade sights. Correctly, the barrel is marked WINCHESTER NEW HAVEN address & CAL markings with stainless barrel bands & holds up to 8 rounds of .32-40 Winchester cartridge.
The right side of the barrel is marked “John Wayne Commemorative” in silver lettering & the engraved stainless steel receiver with both flats nicely engraved with The Duke’s movies & scenes from the same.  The top of the tang features John Wayne’s signature & the large loop lever is finished in satin stainless steel.
On the left side it is engraved with a stagecoach pulled by a hand of 6 horses & coach guard fending off Indians.  Engraved on the right side is John Wayne on a horse tending cattle with names of his movies engraved around the outside.
You can clearly see THE COWBOY’S, THE UNDEFEATED, RED RIVER, RIO LOBO, TRUE GRIT, CHISUM, RIO BRAVO, EL DORORA, WAR WAGON, SONS OF KATIE ELDER, MCCLINTOCK & HOW THE WEST WAS WON engraved around the border of the flat side on the receiver.
As was the norm for these commemorative rifles, it features very nice American walnut straight stock matching forearm with checkering on the grip area.
On the right side of the stock it features a silver tone embossed John Wayne silhouette medallion which is inlaid  into the stock.
This purchase includes original factory paperwork, intact foam case & outside sleeve, (see photos) plus we have a box of the accompanying John Wayne commemorative 32-40 ammunition if you collect from the shop but we cannot ship this out.
As can be seen in the photos, this beautiful rifle is unfired & presents in outstanding condition with traces of factory cosmoline inside the action.
We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we’ll let the pictures be the description.
You will know if this is for you so view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.

We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional.

Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.

Standard cost for shipping to metro locations is $75 & all guns are sent via StarTrack without insurance but packed very well.
