Matching numbers & refurbed by Lithgow!
Offered for sale is this original Short Magazine Lee Enfield No. 1 MkIII made by BSA in 1916 which as can be seen in the photos, is in very good original condition with the usual knocks from service life & at least 2 world wars.
In 1947 this rifle was refurbished at Lithgow Small Arms factory as indicated by the fact the wood work is marked MA 3/47 plus it shows SLAZ & there are other MA markings around the rifle.
As can be seen in the photos, the rifle in excellent overall condition, as is the bore so this would make an excellent option for Combined Service Rifle comps.
WW1 Enfields are always a popular with collectors & are becoming harder to find so this is would be an excellent addition to your collection or the start on one.
