Recently imported from the US & offered for sale is this fully matching numbered early war Imperial Japanese Arisaka Type 99 chambered in 7.7mm with the original AA sights & monopod!
We all know it is practically unheard of for a WW2 Japanese Type 99 to be available in this condition with matching numbers, but we have this available now at the shop.
Available records indicate this was made by the Imperial Military Nagoya Arsenal as part of the 1st Series. The Nagoya Arsenal was a Japanese state-owned combine of five military industrial facilities located in the various wards of the city of Nagoya. This matching numbered rifle has all the hallmarks of being a war trophy, having been taken home after the war by a US GI.
In excellent overall condition, the Emperors Chrysanthemum (MUM) has not been crudely ground off as is usually the case & remains clearly visible, however has been struck as can be seen in the photos.
Bore is excellent, shiny with clear visible rifling & on par with the condition as seen on the rest of the rifle. We have had this apart & the metal under the wood is excellent, almost as issued!
This is one for the serious collector who wants an early Arisaka intact & as these don’t come along often, so don’t let this get away!
