Description

The Winchester Model 101 actually has a very interesting history which became apparent when we researched this gun. In 1962 Olin/Winchester of New Haven, CT entered into a joint venture with Miroku Limited in the Tochigi Prefecture to form the Kodensha Co. Ltd to produce the Winchester Model 101 for them. This Venture was known as the Olin – Kodensha Co. Ltd & these shotguns are renowned for their extremely high quality.
The 101 is basically the same gun Miroku was already making when Winchester chose that company to make its 101. These were made between 1963 & 1987. This particular one was manufactured in the first year of production making it a collectable in its own right. This one retains the original dark finish on the metal work which defined these along with the vent rib barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers & is double ‘full choked’. Scroll engraved action with combination tang safety & selector, single trigger & automatic ejectors. Retains great checkered dark wood with hardly a mark. Still has the black metal Winchester grip cap which is undamaged & the original red vented rubber Winchester recoil pad is in remarkable condition.
The lock up is tight which along with the release lever staying to the right confirms the appearance of having been well maintained by its original owner who has only decided to sell it as he is no longer shooting due to age.

Just for kicks, the S/N is a mirror image, check it out! This is one for the rare Winchester or unique shotgun collector or just as easily, someone who wants a great working shotgun with history. Prices asked for these in the US are up to USD$2,000 so we feel we are asking the right amount for the owner but feel free to make an offer.

Photos coming soon.
