Description
Offered for sale is this very nice & quite unique example of the Smith & Wesson Revolver Model 14 which is in excellent condition & has amateur engraving.
This model is the single action (SA) only & comes with the pinned Patridge front sight, a micro-adjustable rear sight, original factory S&W wood grips & 6” (150 mm) barrel.
First produced in 1947 & originally known as the K-38 Target Masterpiece, it was renamed the Model 14 in 1957 when all Smith & Wesson revolvers were given numerical model numbers. It is built on the same medium-sized frame (K-frame) as the seminal Smith & Wesson Model 10 (Military & Police) revolver. The K-38 model was authorized for duty with the Los Angeles Police Department in the 1960’s & early 1970’s (pretty sure TJ Hooker carried one in the TV series starring William Shatner).
This could be an ideal option for Service Pistol comps & certainly will be a one of a kind at the range!
The timing & lock up seems fine with no looseness. The engraving has been done with a engraving pen & a steady hand but if you don’t like it, it could easily be reblued back to the original high gloss, deep blueing as from factory.
This is priced to sell so don’t delay if you think this is for you.
We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we’ll let the pictures be the description. You will know if this is for you so view the photos carefully & make your decision based on what you see as they form the main description & override all written information. Ask for more if desired.
We think we have described it accurately & correctly but do not claim to be infallible so if we have got anything wrong, it is unintentional.
Whilst we check these out for serviceability, the warranty has expired & this is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As with all used guns, we recommend you have this checked by a suitably qualified person prior to shooting.
Standard cost for shipping to metro locations is $55 & all guns are sent via StarTrack without insurance but packed very well.
