Description
Offered for sale is this very nice .22LR pistol with a ton of historical interest.
High Standard pistols are generally regarded as a classic .22 target pistol & were popular in national-level NRA Bullseye match shooting.
High Standard target pistols were manufactured from 1926 until 2018 in a variety of models in .22 Short & .22 Long Rifle chamberings for use in competition. During World War 2, the company supplied .22 caliber pistols to the US armed forces for basic pistol training & familiarization to the the Colt M1911A1 because of the similarity in grip angle & manual safety location to the 1911 & was used to train new recruits to shoot before moving onto the Colt .45 with the heavier recoil characteristics..
As such, the Hi Standard pistol is synonymous with WW2 US military pistol training, making these a desirable gun for collectors.
This example is a model called ‘The Sharpshooter’, is in excellent original condition as can be seen in the photos & would make an ideal .22 target pistol.
This is club legal with a compliant length barrel & comes with a single 10 round magazine. Additional mags can be found for sale online with relative ease.
